Nutrisystem Weight Loss Program The Nutrisystem weight loss program is designed to help your body develop a healthy metabolism and to help you lose weight. The Norusih system emphasizes low Glycemic carbohydrates, which break down slowly in your body and do not cause your blood sugar levels to fluctuate. Food that are rich in these "good" carbs, fill you up and keep you from feeling hungry because of the slow break down in the body. They also help you burn more body fat and less body muscle.
As with all people, there is no one Nutrisystem plan that will suit everyone. This is why there are weight loss programs for men, women, senior men, senior women, those with diabetes and those who are vegetarian. The meal planner that comes with your Welcome Kit contains a typical way to plan your meals. For example, a woman on this program would have the following meal plan:
Breakfast - a breakfast entre from the Nutrisystem foods, a fruit, a serving of milk and another serving of carbohydrates from a list provided.
Lunch - a Nutrisystem prepackaged lunch, a milk or protein serving, a salad with low-fat dressing and a carbohydrate.
Dinner - A Nutrisystem dinner entre, a milk/protein serving, a carbohydrate serving, a salad, 2 extra servings of vegetables, 2 servings of fat and a Nutrisystem dessert.
Throughout the day, you should eat two snacks, consisting of fruits or one of the Nutrisystem snacks. In all, anyone on this weight loss program will eat five times a day. It is not only what you eat, but the proper portions in the prepackaged foods and the number of times that you eat that helps you lose weight. Like all other diets, it is recommended that you follow an exercise program and drink plenty of water to wash the burned out calories out of your body.
